Why Quirky?
Why not?
Since time immemorial, or maybe just a few decades, people have regarded me as a person full of quirks.
While initially I was not pleased with their observation (nor was my mother) in due time, I realized my quirks were my superpower.
The qualities that set me apart were the exact ones that were going to route me for the success I have been blessed with in my career.
In marketing, you are rewarded for thinking different, for being a person who is unconventional, thinks in a drift uncaught by others.
I took a tremendous bet on my career when I switched from a well-established career path is a swanky consulting company for a career in marketing post my MBA. One of the quirks of being headstrong about what matters to me being responsible for the shift. It seems, it worked out well for me.
The reason I am sharing this with you today is because I want you to know that the one thing that really sets you apart from everyone else, the one thing in which you don’t find a quick relatability with others, the one thing that might make you feel lonely, might just be your superpower.
Two things that you need to do to realise it:
Think hard, introspect and find out for real, who are you? (Self awareness)
Accept this quirk, this idiosyncrasy and love yourself for who you are. (Self acceptance)
The happy results will follow.
Best of luck with all the soul searching!
Have a blessed weekend,
Proma
