Swimming in the deep
It's scarier than you think
I am sure I am not the only one immersed in content worth a few centuries. All of it digitised and maintained in a library that hopefully won’t suffer the same fate that the Library of Alexandria did. Anyway, that’s a bit too dark for my sunshine always nature.
The reason I am writing this post today is because I have been (as always) swamped with a ton of content. We have access to content right from centuries back to ones that have been posted 30 seconds ago.
Can you imagine the amount of load the brain is perpetually exposed to?
Add to that the pressure of creating a ton of content, for Twitter, for Instagram, the company blog post, the community, for the client’s community and the list goes on…
Phew, this is the only place, this newsletter, where I can be myself and type in like writing to a soul-friend (no, not a soul mate, you’re supposed to have telepathic conversation with them).
How do you survive swimming in the deep end, surrounded by a ton of content all around like double-rowed, sharp-toothed sharks? And when I say content, I am not talking about just the ones you read, I am also talking about the ones you hear and watch.
How do you make it out alive and sane and consume the content in a way that it does not consume you and you come out of it like the David of all content?
Simple, keep a slice of your mind stowed away to ensure sanity. A space that is just yours and is for no one else to claim. And when I say no one, I mean not even friends and family.
No one and…

Call it your “Me-Box".” An all encompassing place of peace and serenity insulated from any kind of value or BS. The only thing this place will have is white wall, a lounging chair, and good music humming you to peace.
You can go to this place during early morning walks, while sitting and staring straight at the wall (disclaimer: others might think you are losing your $#!& but humour me), just before you sleep or just after you wake up. The more “Me-Box” times you give to yourself, the more fresh and energised your mind will start feeling.
The best thing about this freshened mind is that it not only scans through content and soaks it up like a sea sponge, it also creates beautiful content every time it has to, as if writer’s block never existed.
So, next time you are swimming in the deep end, make sure you have kept a fresh supply of oxygen in your “Me-Box” handy, so you’re never out of breath or creative ideas ever.
See you in the next issue!
Until next time, stay safe and take care.
