And what happened to thinking different?

5. Quiz

Hey there, 👋🏼

How have you been?

I am feeling particularly refreshed after a short trip to Malta with my family. What a wondrous place, I tell you!

Not much-hyped but a magical place nonetheless. A pleasure for people who love nature, history, and medieval architecture.

If you know Popeye - The Sailor Man, it houses the famous theme park and shooting location for the movie. The Popeye Village.

And GoT fans can catch glimpses of the streets, corners, and beautiful landscapes right from the Dothraki deserts to the sandstone buildings of the King’s Landing.

Medina, Malta

The peace and calm of the place gave me much to ponder about.

As you know, I just need the slightest nudge to go about thinking deeper stuff.

But before we head over to my Wonderland, here is this week’s quiz question:

Thirst knows no season, Passport to refreshment, Pure as Sunlight, are slogans of which popular global brand?

Answer under the signature

Why is it that everyone whilst talking about personal branding is actually following the same cookie-cutter approach to grow their following?

Personal branding has become synonymous with a large followership vs. an actual authentic presence.

For one, if every other person is sharing lists of AI tools and websites, won’t you as a follower start boxing them into the same compartment as “people who share resources?”

What about stories/experiences? And I mean REAL stories and REAL experiences…not the sob stories written to garner sympathy and of course, likes?

And it seems I am not the only one thinking this:

I came across Aastha’s tweet while writing this newsletter and it felt like a sign from the heavens that this needs to be talked about.

I might not have the most favorable take on growth and personal branding.

It might seem like too much work, reflecting, introspecting, and then coming up with content that might not even be relatable to most!

Yes, but what thing of any actual worth is worth “easy” and “ChatGPT created?”

Tell me one thing…do you like being compared to others?

No, I guess, no one does.

The only way you can set yourself apart is by doing things differently. By being incomparable.

You are unique, your thoughts are unique. Why fear if being yourself is “good enough” for people or not?

And here comes the tip of this week’s newsletter:

They say write for just one person to improve your writing skills. I say write for yourself and to yourself. The only person ever who would subconsioucly know the stuff that you’re made of. Your why’s, your how’s and what it is that sets you apart in this world.

Think about this, meditate🧘🏻‍♀️on this. Do more inner work and rise up to your awareness. If you want to be a good founder or marketer, you will need to know yourself first before you set off to do a psychological dissection of your target audience.

As a founder, build a personal brand that is YOU, not your product.

As a marketer, add perspectives and ideas that come from not only market research but from the heart.

In this world of AI and generative and predictive AI, be a bit more YOU.

Numbers might fade, and so will the lists, but what will remain are stories, memories, and emotions.

My aim as a marketer and DigiWitch is to pump in as much newness and uniqueness in the market as I can through my posts and newsletters.

Now, let’s head back to the reality. Wonderland time is over.
